Online application: You’ll receive an email confirming receipt.

► Eleven weeks prior to the testing period

Scheduling Authorizations are emailed to candidates. This document will indicate how to schedule your appointment. If you do not receive one, contact PTC immediately. Check that the name on your Scheduling Authorization matches your name on your current driver’s license, passport or U.S. military ID. If your name doesn’t match, you may be denied entry into the testing center. Contact PTC to correct any inconsistencies with your name.

► After you’ve scheduled your examination appointment

Prometric will email an appointment confirmation with the date, time, and location of your exam. Please contact Prometric at 1-800-741-0934 if you do not receive this confirmation email.

► The day of your appointment

You will need to bring your government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport or U.S. military ID*, with you; otherwise, you will not be able to sit for your examination, and you will forfeit your exam fees. PTC recommends that you bring a copy of your Scheduling Authorization and your appointment confirmation from Prometric. Be sure to check the rules for your examination for more information about the day of your exam.

 

*Temporary/paper identification will not be accepted at the Prometric testing center. Please check that your ID will be valid and current before your examination appointment.
